Responsibilities

  • The Nursing Support Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of operational resources for patient care units. Accountable for the application of Allina policies and contractual agreements pertaining to the utilization of staffing and financial resources. Facilitates projects to improve the flow of patient care resources. Manages systems and processes that directly impact the coordination of patient care resources.
  • Generates long-range schedules for the patient care unit(s) based on position control and master staffing plan and maintains position control and master staffing plan
  • Assists PCM with maintenance of employee files
  • Processes employee change/termination forms for PCM signature
  • Completes secretarial tasks for unit leadership as requested including typing, mail distribution, and copying
  • Assists in coordination of events and projects as directed
  • Processes and maintains data
  • Completes processing of payroll
  • Coordinates communication within the unit(s) and between other patient care units and other hospital and system resources
  • Demonstrates understanding of role in developing and maintaining an environment that is safe for patients, visitors and employees
  • Coordinates supply ordering for unit(s)
  • Actively facilitates educational services, meetings, and events of the unit(s)
  • Uses communication techniques that reflect attention to the needs of the patient/family based on patient age and other special needs


Education

  • High school degree required
  • BA/BS preferred


Qualification/Skills

Experience

  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of personal computers including work processing and spreadsheets (strong computer skills required)
  • Minimum 2 years experience with customer relations/service skills required
  • Experience with online scheduling systems preferred
  • Experience accurately maintaining multiple systems
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment while balancing several ongoing projects
  • Previous staffing experience strongly preferred

Skills

  • Advanced computer skills including Word, Power Point, and Excel spreadsheets
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and public relations skills working with a variety of disciplines
  • Ability to set priorities, balance several ongoing projects
  • Effective interpersonal communication and establishing relationships, critical thinking, customer service, confidentiality, organization, creativity, flexibility, multitasking, teaching and the ability to be part of a diverse health care team
  • Conflict management capabilities
  • Ability to identify priorities, work independently and good problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a face-paced environment while ensuring accuracy

  • Monday – Friday (Days)
