The Policy Office within Integrity and Compliance has an opening for an Editor/Compliance Analyst. Mayo Clinic has implemented a standardized approach to policy management that facilitates policy, process, procedure, and guideline development consistent with regulatory and practice needs to provide users with a consistent experience. On behalf of the Policy Office, this position partners with owners and writers responsible for policy, process, procedure, and guideline documents to provide analysis and editorial support for new document development, revisions to existing documents, documents coming up for next scheduled review, and convergence of high-risk policies and supporting procedures. This position reports to the Operations Manager for the Policy Office.
The incumbent will work closely with the Operations Manager and other colleagues from the Policy Office in partnership with document owners and writers to ensure content is written to reflect the organization’s intent and is easy to read and is understandable by Mayo’s users. This position will ensure documents are written for appropriate level, verbiage, and clarity using the standard templates by explaining and negotiating editorial changes with document owners and/or writers. This position requires demonstrated initiative, proficiency, excellent application of grammar, punctuation, and English usage, and strong organizational and communication skills with a commitment to quality and excellence in service.
Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in compliance, privacy, health information management, internal audit, human resources, legal, investigations, information security, or a related field. Master’s or Juris Doctor degree preferred.
Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality. Healthcare provider/payer experience. Knowledge of Federal and State healthcare regulations. Knowledge in compliance processes. Knowledge of integrity and compliance best practices, effectiveness evaluations and resources. Systems knowledge of EHRs. Effective training and presentation skills. Investigation and audit experience. Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and to respond to changing demands from multiple sources. Ability to follow-through, meet regulatory deadlines, anticipate requirements, and build relationships. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups including attorneys, physicians, patients, allied health staff, researchers, and vendors. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $32.12 per hour.
