Linen & Central Services
In partnership with LCS management, the Quality Assistant Supervisor assists in effective implementation of the quality system for LCS. The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert in the department policies, processes, procedures and the quality program for LCS and will develop a broad knowledge of the practice, business and technology as it relates to their assigned area of responsibility. The Quality Assistant Supervisor will also serve as a resource for information and the implementation of new regulations/requirements and/or policies/procedures relative to the quality system for LCS. They will assist in ensuring the program is in compliance with institutional, departmental and external regulatory agencies, and provide department leadership with key quality indicator data and recommendations for improvement. The Quality Assistant Supervisor will also assist in the supervision of assigned staff, manage work assignments, assist in conflict management, and additional duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED
Must have Linen & Central Services experience or equivalent. Proficient in sterilization, decontamination, equipment and instrument identification and/or linen processing and distribution. Previous experience or demonstrated leadership ability are requirements. Prefer knowledge of quality processes, inventory control, and continuous performance improvement concepts. Proficient computer skills are required. Must have high school diploma. Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
A skills assessment test will be administered at the time of the interview, and a “PASS” score is required
Experience with using quality methodologies are preferred. Successful coordination of quality management activities through The Joint Commission and/or HCAHPS a plus. Skills required for this position: knowledge and application of the basic quality system principles and concepts. Knowledge and application of the regulatory agencies and requirements for the specific area. Strong team building and facilitation skills, and problem solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines. Good presentation and facilitation skills preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills and computer skills. Must have strong organizational and time management skills, and able to work independently. Ability to work with minimal direction, prioritizes, multitasks, and meet project timelines. Must be able to work under stressful conditions, maintaining a positive attitude in a changing environment.
License or certification
Must hold or attain within 18 months of hire CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) and CLLM (Certified Laundry and Linen Manager) Certification.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $20.39 per hour.
Hours / Pay period
Variable Day Shifts.
Frequent travel throughout Midwest Mayo Clinic Health System, including some overnight stays.
No weekends or holidays
